From 29.12.22 to 9.3.23
The Musrara Social Gallery is hosting the first phase of the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Young Artists’ Greenhouse for Excellence in conjunction with Musrara, the Naggar School of Art. The 2022 greenhouse comprised selected female artists whose work focuses on art, society, and education. The projects they chose to create hold the potential for personal and social change while empowering target communities in various regions around Israel.
During the year, the artists held meetups at Musrara as part of the enrichment sessions for artists, curators, educational professionals, and societal figures. At the same time, they produced their own personal projects as they forged connections in various communities and created partnerships with teaching staff, educators, and organizations.
The projects initiated and directed by the artists will be displayed at the educational institutions where they were active, as well as at the Musrara Gallery of Art and Society in Jerusalem during December, 2022.
The exhibition, Four Beats, presented at The Social Gallery, will display visual expressions from the four projects and encourages us to observe the artists’ special methods of empowering the content, which suggests various matters of personal and social identity, conveyed through personal and group mentoring, collaboration, alternative teaching methods, and creative processes.
